Why You Need A Squeeze Page
Step It Up With A Squeeze Page
In the last post I talked about Kreating a splash Page .Splash pages are a great way to advertise in traffic exchanges since they are fast loading and much more attention grabbing then most long (or even short) sales pages.
If I were to list the possible pages you could use in order from least effective to most effective the list would look like
4. Direct sales page or affiliate link
3. Site provided splash page
2. Unique Splash Page
1. Squeeze Page
Now a squeeze page is just like a splash page, it should be short to the point and attention grabbing. The big difference between the two though is that a splash page will have a call to action like “click Here For More information”
A squeeze page will instead have an opt-in form on it and ask for a name and email in exchange for the information.
So why use a squeeze page?
Ok lets use an example. Lets say you are promoting “awesome juice” ( just a made up product but wouldn’t surprise me if such a thing exists)
Now if you are promoting your affiliate link and assign 1000 credits that means your affiliate link was shown 1000 times. That may sound good but if there 100 other affiliates also promoting the same page with their affiliate ID attached the chances that some one will join from your link instead of someones else is greatly reduced.
At best you have a 1 in 100 chance that its going to be your link.
But whats even worse is that after seeing the ad so many times most members are going to become “blind” to it, meaning they have seen it so many times they dont even pay any attention to it at all.
Now if “Awesome Juice” provides a splash page that you can use, by all means use it its going to stand out from all the other members that are using just the affiliate link. It also will break through the blindness for a bit and if some one clicks on it for more information then chances are they are going to take the time to look it over and see what its about.
Now you wont get all 1000 members viewing the sales page but thats OK because when they click on your splash page its going to open the sales page in a new window where they can focus more on the sales page, and as long as the sales page is converting should convert much better than taking a lottery aproach of just putting the sales page in and hoping some one joins from your link.
Now the problem with this is that there are going to be other members that do this too.
So you are still competeing for attention from the same members using the same ads . Even though the ads do work better your still sharing with all the other members using the same ad.
To totally eliminate this issue you should create your own custom splash page so its unique to only you. And it will increase the clicks you get.
But.. If you put an optin on the page and make it a squeeze page. Instead of getting that click and sales page open in a new window.
You get their email address first, then you can send them to the sales page. Then on top of that you can send them a serries of emails telling about how awesome “Awesome Juice” is
And if they still dont sign up for Awesome Juice with you, maybe you can send them an email about how you promote Awesome Juice and recommend some tools for them (using your affiliate link)
So now instead of showing them the sales page just once you can show it to them several times, tell them about how cool er I mean awesome it is, and even recommend other products.
And this is all just because you changed your splash page into a squeeze page.
